I don't think that my grandmother's father was born that early, since she was only born around 1942. But, she was the baby and there were several others born before her. Even still, I don't think he's the same William Ervin. Still though, having the same name is interesting and there could be a link. I'll check into it further. My grandmother also did not have a close relationship with her father, so she has little details about him. I think we have pictures, so if you have some maybe I could see about getting them posted so you can compare. My grandmother lives in south Mississippi and we are going there to see her at Easter, so It wouldn't be until then until I could get a copy of William's picture posted. But either way, I'll look into it. Good luck in the meantime. I've hit many a brick wall in my research and it's frustrating. But these message boards are a godsend for research and there is a wealth of information here and somebody can always provide clues. That's how I've been directed through many of my discoveries. My surname - Crumby - was horrible to research, but I finally found a guy through this message board who thought we might have a connection and we put our heads together and found a massive amount of info and linked ourselves as cousins. Anyways, hope to get back with you soon.
